Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a complete set of cloud services that enable all companies, from startups to enterprises, to run virtually everything in the cloud, including mobile applications, big data analytics, AI/ML platforms, and microservices/serverless infrastructures. Startups, which are now primarily born-in-the-cloud, represent a critically important and growing subset of customers to AWS. These companies have unique needs, technical considerations, sales cycles, and growth trajectories that distinguish them from traditional companies. These businesses require different engagement strategies and sales motions from sellers to effectively acquire, grow, and retain them long-term on the AWS platform.
The ideal candidate will possess both a sound business background and experience that enables them to effectively interact at the CxO/VP-level startup executives, as well as a technical background that allows them to effectively engage with CTOs and software developers. This candidate will engage across the Asia-Pacific and Japan region to help create and support a vibrant public sector focused start-up ecosystem on AWS. Working with Govtech, Healthtech and EdTech start-ups to support their initial journey on AWS. Running programmatic engagements and interventions to help these start-ups grow. They will also be responsible for managing the delivery of strategic engagements set-up with collaborators to onboard and support startups in the region.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Drive the necessary business insights, strategic and technical relationships with startups, startup organizations and key stakeholders in Asia-Pacific and Japan to establish meaningful business relationships and drive cloud adoption
· Educate startups and startup organizations on technical matters and how AWS can help companies scale and grow by leveraging AWS services and go-to-market programs
· Experience establishing and managing communities, membership programs, or equivalent.
· Experience with public policy, regulation, procurement, security and innovation approaches in public service or regulated industries.
· Drive ecosystem growth of the start-up community in AWS that is focused on Public Sector customers.
· Serve as a key member of the APS WWPS team in helping to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy in the startup ecosystem
· Execute strategic initiatives for AWS, while working with key internal stakeholders
