Join our Logistics Compliance team, partnering with Amazon’s SG Transportation & Logistics leaders to identify and mitigate risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. We are looking for individuals who can apply their knowledge of operations and internal controls to a diverse set of risk areas including compliance, process, technology, legal, finance, and program management. In this role, work closely with Amazon logistics and transportation businesses to understand their nuanced risk landscapes. You will also partner with various legal, finance, and compliance teams to optimize compliance programs that will include designing and executing risk assessments, designing governance programs, auditing risk areas, and evaluating policies.
Responsibilities
· Work across transportation teams and other business partners to identify and assess regulatory and compliance risks as it relates to our 3P carriers
· Design and deliver compliance programs including defining supplier audit criteria, audit cadence, and risk rankings. Partner with the Controls Assurance team to design risk-based audit programs
· Develop a working knowledge of the operational processes and controls in place that support all compliance programs
· Assist with linking policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting with the goal of improving operations, compliance policies, and risk management
· Collaborate with project teams in developing business requirements and business controls in implementation plans
· Drive process improvement and control implementation projects
· Drive documentation of processes, risks, and controls and work with owners to assign accountability
· Deliver quality documents that are effectively written with practical, actionable, and value-added recommendations
· Manage a 3P audit provider to execute a pre-agreed audit program against a standard checklist
· Willing to travel up to 50% of working time, sometimes at short notice

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree in business, policy, risk management or related field
· 10+ years of risk management, regulatory engagement, or similar discipline experience including engaging with external stakeholders
· 10+ years team leadership experience
· Self-starter who can develop strategic direction, plan effective tactics and deliver specific results.
· Exceptional ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment / decision-making skills, and political acumen. Intelligently build a course of action, analyze trade-offs, and make recommendations even in ambiguous situations.
· Ability to understand complex business processes and technologies.
· Analytical decision making with a demonstrated ability problem solve, make decisions in complex situations and drive issues to completion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· MBA or Master's degree in economics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
· Demonstrated experience working on issues impacting the technology industry, such as competition, privacy, consumer protection, tax, copyright, trade, labor, transportation and infrastructure, product compliance, sustainability
· Experience with audit or risk program design, control environment process documentation and control mapping
· Experience managing external agencies
· Experience managing budgets
· Experience working in or with a compliance or risk management organization.
· 5+ years of experience in a business intelligence analyst role with a technology company
· Six Sigma or other lean management experience
