Lead the procurement team to manage the central procurement functions for the organization and develop sourcing and procurement strategies to maximise cost effectiveness and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage team of Sourcing Specialists and Procurement Support executives and provide guidance to the team to drive sourcing initiatives.
- Lead the team to drive supplier consolidation and rationalization to maximise efficiency and leverage on economies of scale across Mediacorp group.
- Define and implement sourcing strategies to support Corporate and Business Units’ objectives and maximize cost savings across the organization.
- Establish standards for overall evaluation of procurement functions and deliver value-add service to the users within established budget.
- Implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM), to maximize the value to the company
- Develop procurement policies and procedures to drive continuous process improvement and achieve optimal operating efficiency and ensure corporate governance
- Drive Vendors Risk management in the procurement process and this involves understanding risks that can impact the organisation and implementing strategies to mitigate and manage those risks
- Ensure sustainability in procurement terms and takes into account economic factors alongside the typical price and quality considerations when procuring products and services
- Build and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders and obtain buy in on Procurement processes
- Build the Procurement team by utilising strong change management techniques
- Manage the Procurement team to work with Finance, Legal, Risk and HR on all Procurement and corporate governance related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate policies
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration
- Minimum 12 years relevant working experience and at least 8 years of managerial or supervisory role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams to achieve results
- Possess excellent communication skills and a good team player
- Good knowledge of supply chain management
- Possess a track record of delivering change and cost efficiencies with vendors, preferably in a media or service industry
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to lead key negotiations
