The Opportunity

SecondMuse is seeking a contract Communications Associate to support work on our program for 3 to 6 months in South and Southeast Asia, The Incubation Network (TIN). TIN by The Circulate Initiative and SecondMuse is a program that supports early-stage entrepreneurs and innovations in waste management and recycling, so that they are adopted and scaled with investment.

This contract role reports to our SecondMuse Studio team that leads on marketing and communications for the whole company and across programs. The Communications Associate will work primarily with the Studio team to support communications on multiple programs within TIN, but will also be embedded in the program teams to stay up to date on all of the program initiatives, milestones, and needs.

The ideal candidate has good execution skills, a mature and high-energy individual who is result oriented and self-directed, with experience in a corporate or marketing communications field.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the day to day operations and content calendars of public-facing channels including website, newsletter, blogs and social media
  • Write, copyedit, proofread and revise communications content as necessary (blogs, articles, briefs etc.)
  • Support SecondMuse Studio in the development of program-related communication plans
  • Work closely with program managers to understand program updates, milestones and objectives
  • Support promotion of ongoing events
  • Support Studio in partnership and client management for communications
  • Ensure standard and consistency in all program-related communications materials and deliverables
  • Support content production including copywriting for internal and external reports, briefs, presentations, blogs and thought leadership

Requirements

  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • An effective problem solver with good project management experience
  • Ability to effectively manage client relationships and attentive to client needs
  • Experience and openness to working with diverse range of people and teams
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams and thrive in a collaborative work environment
  • Proficient in graphic softwares i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

Work Environment / Travel

All SecondMuse offices are currently operating virtually. This role requires working flexible hours across different time zones and occasionally on weekends.

Required Education and Experience

  • At least a Diploma in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Media Studies, Journalism or any communications-related disciplines
