Software Engineering Intern - API Integrations and DevOps

As a SWE DevOps Intern specializing in API integrations and DevOps you will play a vital role in enhancing our software systems' capabilities by seamlessly connecting various applications, optimizing workflows, and ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. You'll be working closely with our experienced engineers to contribute to the development and maintenance of cutting-edge solutions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both API integration and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with software engineers and BI Data analytics teams to design, develop, and integrate APIs that enable seamless communication between different applications.
• Assist in building, testing, and deploying software components that interact with Amazon S3 for data storage, retrieval, and management.
• Participate in designing and implementing automated deployment pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient release processes using DevOps methodologies.
• Monitor the performance and scalability of API integrations , troubleshooting and optimizing as needed.
• Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to the overall architecture of systems involving API integrations.
• Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, including API specifications, integration guides, and deployment procedures.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate on improving coding practices and development standards within the team.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends in API integration, DevOps, and cloud technologies, bringing new insights and best practices to the team.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, Java, or similar.
• Familiarity with API design principles, RESTful architectures, and JSON/XML data formats.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and automated deployment.
• Basic understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) services.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a dynamic software engineering environment.
• Previous coursework, projects, or experience related to API integrations, DevOps, or cloud technologies is a plus.
