Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial lawyer to be based in Singapore to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel – Colocation Data Centers, supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is at the forefront of the "cloud" computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more.
This lawyer will work on a global team responsible for supporting AWS's worldwide data centers, including data center leasing, capacity procurement, operations, compliance, and networking. You will structure, draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, manage outside counsel on discrete matters, and advise internal business clients on key regulatory, legal and contractual issues relating to data center capacity procurement, colocation, interconnection, fiber connectivity, data center operations, networking services, and other commercial matters. In addition, you will help develop and implement process improvements across the team, resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handle pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.
The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· A J.D., LLB or equivalent degree from a leading university or accredited law school, and admission to practice in a recognized jurisdiction
· A minimum of 2 years of post-admission legal experience at a leading law firm
· Experience drafting and negotiating complex transactional documents
· A good sense of humor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Background or keen interest in technology, real estate, commercial leasing, telecommunications and/or data center operations
· Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
· Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and client interaction skills
