We are now looking for a new colleague in the position Director, Public Regulatory Affairs to join the Public and Regulatory Affairs Asia team in Telenor Group.
The Public and Regulatory Affairs Asia team is part of the External Relations Asia team which comprises of 11 employees based in Singapore. Some key responsibilities of the Public and Regulatory Affairs team include driving policy shaping and reputation building for Telenor Group in Asia, systematically identify and manage relationships with prioritized regional and in-market stakeholders and proactively monitor regulatory development in Asia.
In this role you will get a regional exposure and work on many facets of regulatory and policies matters within Telenor’s markets in Asia (i.e. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, Malaysia and Thailand) while you can learn on emerging regulatory topics through our Nordics colleagues. You also get the opportunity to collaborate with Telenor’s key alliances to help mitigate regulatory issues and widen networking platform for Telenor.
As Director, Public and Regulatory Affairs, you will have the following responsibility:
Influence and shape Telenor Group’s Business Environment across Asia through efficient advocacy on regulatory and policy matters
Advise on emerging trends, policies and regulations including expert advisory on relevant topics
Be the primary touchpoint for selected BUs on all matters relating to public and regulatory affairs
Grow and maintain relationships with prioritized, regional stakeholders (i.e. NGOs, IGOs, Industry Associations) and act as spokesperson for Telenor Group at public events
Monitor and manage regulatory issues and risks relating to specific BUs/Markets across the Asian footprint
Empower the Public and Regulatory Affairs functions in the BUs through capacity building and ad hoc support
We are looking for you who can relate to some of the following:
University or college degree in Political Science, Business, Law or Engineering.
Extensive experience from relevant fields within external relations.
Experience in advisory, project management and stakeholder management within Asia.
Experience in dealings with telecommunications policies and regulations while some exposure on emerging topics such as digital economy, data governance, AI etc. will be an added advantage.
Able to carry out diverse projects ranging from advocacy campaigns and government engagement in order to influence and drive policy changes in Telenor’s markets in Asia.
Any hands-on experience in working with regulators or inter-governmental organizations will be an added advantage.
Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
