Job Description

By 2025 Amazon Web Services (AWS) will help 29 million people globally grow their technical skills with free cloud computing skills training to help learners prepare for the cloud-enabled workforce of tomorrow. AWS Education to Workforce (Asia-Pacific/Japan) is looking for an innovative, driven Program Manager to scale the reach and impact of our AWS Education to Workforce programs and initiatives in ASEAN countries. As a national skills and manpower expert, you will lead strategic and national level skills/manpower development initiatives, bringing the different assets of AWS and driving a one AWS agreement at a country or regional level.

The AWS Education to Workforce team is responsible for coordinating with state, province, and country leaders to define, design, and implement a comprehensive strategy to ensure a cloud-ready workforce in each market. While the initial focus of this role is in Singapore, the Education to Workforce team is a global program and the scope of this role will include the rest of ASEAN and Asia-Pacific/Japan (APJ) opportunities over time.

You will establish and maintain high-level relationships with senior government, education, and workforce officials in your territory, understanding their workforce needs and successfully implementing AWS education, training programs, and services to help them prepare a cloud-ready workforce in their markets.

You will be responsible for developing opportunity pipelines, evangelizing workforce offerings, and driving successful adoption and implementation of related education and workforce-readiness programs (e.g AWS Educate, Academy) within government and education institutions. In additional, you will drive and co-ordinate the execution of all AWS cloud verified program engagements and to undertake curriculum mapping with customers.

Job Specification

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· At least 5 years of technology-related sales or business development to state, province, or country level government leaders, while working for a leading software or technology company, or
· Prior experience negotiating, coordinating, and deploying career and technical education programs in public or private education systems at a state or national level in partnership with industry providers, vendors, and/or employers
· Proven experience in working with IT industry training programs and certification offerings, and related workforce readiness projects or initiatives
· Good written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to write complex business documents
· Excellent relationship management skills, with established experience at a senior management
· Ability to operate independently, manage program and project in a highly ambiguous and complex environment.
· Experience across functional and technical areas designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A background in education, public policy, or workforce development.
· At least 3-5 years’ experience, with at least several years in engaging with senior tertiary institution management/faculty and other agencies preferably in the Public Sector.
· Experience in planning strategic and national level skills and manpower development initiatives
