Position Summary
1)Manage SEA&O Regional Tax
This position will be also involved in Southeast Asia and Oceania regional tax matters.
2)Manage Tax of Samsung Asia Pte Ltd
Manage the full spectrum of SG tax related matters of the Company, covering corporate tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, and Goods & Services Tax. As a key partner to the business this role will drive qualitative tax compliance, advice, review, process and tax savings for the Company.
Role and Responsibilities
Managing tax issues of Subsidiaries in SEA&O region
Monitoring Tax development / Issue in SEA&O Region
Effectively manage tax risk of SAPL
Fully in charge of all tax matters of SAPL, including Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, Expatriate’s Tax, GST etc.
Prepare Transfer Pricing documentation with tax advisors
Liaise with the Tax Authorities in respect of all the tax matters of SAPL
Review agreements on all tax related clauses and/or ensure necessary tax implications are all addressed in favor of SAPL
Respond to business partners with tax issues timely
Liaise with auditors, external agents, HQ other relevant stakeholders on tax related matters as and when required
Ensure that tax liabilities are accurate and reported in compliance with relevant legislation and standards
Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly tax reporting and other tax related reporting as required by the Company for reporting
Ensure tax returns are accurate and submitted to the tax authority in accordance with the statutory time lines
To drive effective implementation of in-country procedures to ensure proper compliance with Singapore tax laws
Keep abreast with legislative and regulatory changes and ensure that the Company are informed of relevant changes.
Report on any tax implications that are favorable /not favorable to the Company and suggest solutions where available
Skills and Qualifications
8 ~ 10 years’ experience in Big 4 accounting firm and/or large MNC
Degree in Accounting & Finance or Taxation
Experience in accounting is strongly required
CPA or equivalent preferred
Strong tax compliance background, including tax accounting
Exceptional attention to detail
Able to work in a fast-driven and dynamic work environment
Ability to meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision
Analytical mindset and able to combine tax legislation
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
