Overview

The Drum has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious home-based Head of Sales, looking to join the sales team behind the most used media and marketing platform in Europe, and one of the fastest-growing in Asia. This is an excellent opportunity for a career-driven salesperson looking to join a fun, creative and results-focused team, developing partnerships with and growing revenue from the largest players in our market. The right candidate should enjoy working in an entrepreneurial and hands-on environment within a fast-moving and exciting business.


The Role

Our Head of Sales will be focused primarily on building new business opportunities amongst fast-growth companies in Asia for multiple subscription products and services in including; The Drum Network, Drum Recommends and Open Mic. You will also be selling The Drum marketing solutions including branded content, digital display and events. We are seeking applicants that have a strong background in B2B marketing solutions sales, who can educate and inspire marketing agencies, AdTech and MarTech companies to see the benefits of working with the Drum.

Responsibilities:

  • To delight our clients with market-leading sales and service
  • Contribute to target setting and growth objectives for the APAC region
  • Create and execute a plan to achieve growth objectives and meet targets across our product range.
  • Build and manage a team of sales professionals.
  • Maintain full knowledge of all the commercial opportunities created across products, platforms, services, projects amp; content plays and organise the sales team to maximise these opportunities. This includes supporting the team to make long term client relationships and also to optimise tactical short term opportunities.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure that the commercial opportunities and benefits of The Drum are clear to each relevant customer group.
  • Follow our established sales processes, in particular by working with pitch/delivery teams to make sure that client proposals are creative, deliverable and priced profitably and that they provide value for both clients and their target audiences.
  • Work with our product leads to contribute to the development of new products and services that can provide solutions to our customers and readers.
  • Ensure that your team can successfully consult with clients to find solutions and also ensure that we optimise opportunities around our themes and content pillars, and other hooks and products.
  • Be actively promoting cross-selling and upselling to grow the accounts of individual clients.
  • Utilise salesforce for the proper management of the sales process and ensure that the sales team are using it in line with our policies.
  • Contribute to training and development for the sales team globally.
  • Have a lead or co-lead role in pitches to clients.
  • Oversee all pitches that are going out to clients to ensure they are on brand, realistic and accurately priced.
  • Follow the process for project management via Asana and ensure that all team members do the same.

Requirements

  • Experience of B2B marketing services sales with a strong performance record
  • Relevant consultative style sales training and experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-growing organisation
  • Strong influencing and networking skills
  • Strong prospecting and new business development skills
  • A collaborative, creative spark with the ability to effectively work with other departments
  • A proven track record of results from a similar role
  • Continuing thirst for knowledge and understanding of our market
