Job Description

Reactor School (www.reactor.school) designs Entrepreneurship Education (EntreEd) programmes for students aged 15 to 24. We work with high schools and universities all over the world to help educators implement EntreEd on campus. At our core, we help students turn their ideas into projects, and their projects into companies. We believe that the world's biggest problem is that there are not enough young people solving the world's biggest problems. Our mission is to Cultivate the Galaxy's Best Young Founders.

Reactor currently works with 150+ high schools and universities across the Asia-Pacific region. We graduate between 5,000 to 8,000 students each year. We are also able to invest in the student-led startups that graduate from our programmes. Our average ticket size is SGD $100k per student startup team. We invest over a longer-term horizon of 10 to 20 years.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Sales amp; Business Development, you will be responsible for pitching and closing programmes for high schools and universities in the region. You will work with the Training Operations Manager and the Head of Learning Experience Design to craft EntreEd programmes for high schools and universities. You will be given an individual sales target to hit. Commissions will be provided upon achieving a baseline monthly target.

Duties amp; Responsibilities

  1. Own and hit/exceed monthly sales targets, as an individual contributor. You will also be assigned key accounts to manage, including school leaders and owners of high schools and universities. You will be required to build strong, genuine relationships with them.
  2. You will need to communicate Reactor’s value proposition through proposals and presentations. You will be tasked to pitch Reactor to school/board owners, district superintendents, principals, deans, educators, parents, government officials and other representatives from the education sector. You may also be tasked to pitch Reactor to corporate partners, including tuition centers, college prep providers, foundations and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the K-12 and/or HigherEd industry. Preference will be made for candidates that have previously pitched enrichment programmes or entrepreneurship education programmes to senior high schools (students age 15 to 19) and colleges (students age 19 amp; above).
  • At least 3 years of managing an annual sales and/or business development target, on an individual basis.
  • You should be meticulous and excellent at following-up. We’d like to see evidence of you finishing up whatever you’ve started.
  • Demonstrate the 5 Reactor core values: #PeopleFirst, #MoveFast, #BeBold, #HaveFun, and #BeAwesome. This is a deal-breaker; we hire based on values, attitudes and skills, in that particular order. We believe that with the right values and attitudes, skills can be picked-up over time.
  • Be a first principles thinker, demonstrate a growth mindset, be able to practice radical candour, and be relentlessly resourceful. (If you haven’t heard of Carol Dweck, Kim Scott or Paul Graham, we would strongly encourage you to google them up before hitting ‘Apply’.)
  • Be someone that your fellow teammates can look up to and respect at all times. Be warm, humble and self-aware. We do not tolerate brilliant jerks here at Reactor.
  • Be fiercely inquisitive, driven and passionate about startups, technology and entrepreneurship education.

Benefits

  • Infinite Leave - Your official vacation leave eligibility is fourteen (14) days for each calendar year, but we follow the Airbnb scheme for infinite leave i.e. you are allowed and actively encouraged to take more than 14 days of leave each year, but the catch is that you need to meet your Objectives amp; Key Results (OKRs).
  • Medical Leave - Fourteen (14) days of outpatient medical leave and sixty (60) days of hospitalization leave each calendar year.
  • Study Leave - Fourteen (14) days for each academic year.
  • Transport Claim - Claim for taxi fare, for trips made in an official capacity.
  • Overseas Trip Claim - Claim for flights, accommodation, telecommunications and travel insurance for trips made in an official capacity. We also encourage our teammates to extend their work trips for leisure.
  • Event Claim - Co-sponsoring of events attended in an official capacity, either at 70% of the cost or in-full.
  • Book Claim - Co-sponsoring of any books or training materials, either at 70% of the cost or in-full.
  • Work-From-Anywhere - We have a cozy office at One North in Singapore, but you're welcome to work from anywhere that you feel is most conducive for you.
