Responsible for geotechnical site investigations and operation and maintenance of geotechnical equipment which includes various Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) - sampling and other Geotechnical required systems such CPT-sampling tools to acquire geotechnical data.

Functions and duties:

• Lead CPT operations and maintenance of CPT machine and accessories
• Operation of Actros 6x6 truck on site.
• Knowledge of operation of GPS/Survey equipment.
• Reporting to supervisor.
• Able to determine if CPT data and sampler recovery are of good quality.
• Able to repair and maintain system in case of malfunction.
• Responsible for the preparation, set-up, testing and maintenance of CPT tools and equipment used to acquire geotechnical data.
• Manage stock and request equipment when necessary.
• Responsible for the acquisition of high-quality geotechnical data.
• Assist with the preparation of relevant paperwork and reports.
• Responsible for the adherence to safety requirements according to the company’s HSE policies and local health, safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

• Familiarity with Geomil CPT is added advantage
• Experience in reclamation project is additional advantage
• Experience installing piezomenters is an advantage
• Hands on experience in CPT operations is a must
