Job Description

Reporting directly to the Section Manager and Head of Department, this role value adds through ensuring the organisation possesses a strong and secured network backbone that enhances all IT services needed by the organisation. Administering Microsoft 365 suite of services is one of the important responsibilities of this role. This role further value adds by ensuring a safe and secured IT environment with zero compromises amp; breeches.
A day in the life:
- You will administer, monitor and manage the organisation’s IT security and network infrastructure across all the operating locations of the organisation. You will also need to work with various stakeholders to design, plan and implement progressive improvements to the infrastructure, increasing usability and performance yet guided by best value-of-money principle. Your expertise in this area is important to us in all our future school expansion projects.
- Zero compromises and breeches mean that we need airtight backend and endpoint devices administration. monitoring, management. Zero compromises and breeches does not mean that we stifle our users within the organisation and cripple their work. You will need to work with various stakeholders in designing, planning and implementing agreed security architecture.
- You will administer, monitor and manage the organisation’s Microsoft 365 suite of services. Your role is vital in this area as you will be the first response person in ensuring uptime of our Microsoft 365 services in our organisation. You will need to work with our professional vendors to ensure uptime of all our Microsoft suite of services and that the services subscribed still serve our organisation’s needs. Where changes are needed, we rely greatly on your proactivity to propose, design, plan and implement necessary changes required.
- From time to time, you will be called upon to cover your fellow IT Specialist in System and Services administration when he/her is not available. Likewise, he/she will be called upon to cover your responsibilities when you are not available. Thus, both of you will need to be well-versed in these areas. Further, you will need to chip in to play the role of a Level 1 IT Support from time to time in times of need (influx of support requests, etc.). Level 1 Support look to the IT Specialists as role models and you will need also help to mentor and guide them as they fulfil their work duties.
- Communication and accountability to the team and all our stakeholders is vital. You will be required to submit status updates, weekly and ad-hoc reports where needed to ensure continuing alignment of project purpose and accountability
While doing all the above, you must comply to organizational policies and SOPs and contribute proactively to meeting the department goals and KPIs. Communication is vital within our organisation for alignment and you should regularly give status reports on your projects and duties. Taking the lead from your HOD is important and you will be expected to work on any other responsibilities assigned by them.

- You are adept and have working experience in a huge range of Microsoft products
- People whom you have worked with often said that you are a good communicator (verbal and written)
- You are hands-on and self-motivated and happy to tackle any task however big or small
- You are able to work independently as well as working in a team setting
